Chemistry

About the Department

The department of Chemistry has been established to foster education and research in Chemistry to meet the growing demand for qualified and efficient individuals in the country and across the globe. The department offers undergraduate (B.Sc. Hons., 6 semesters), postgraduate (M.Sc. Hons., 4 semesters), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree. The Department strives to provide national ambiance in a local setting. A mentoring-based teaching method is followed; where each student is personally guided so that he or she can reach its true potential. Special NET coaching classes are routinely conducted.

Research projects and practical oriented teaching are supported with the help of an able lab infrastructure with all required instruments and chemicals. Staying true to our social commitment, the department conducted research projects on various local issues, such as water pollution. The department is supported by an exceptionally qualified, and motivated faculty with a strong commitment to teaching and research. All faculty members hold Ph.D. degrees with most of them having postdoctoral experience from reputed institutes in India or abroad.
