Session 2023-24 registrations are now open

Unlike most of the educational entities having commercialized the higher education by operating like business ventures, the Akal University has mandated to uphold the three basic principles of higher education namely;

The University implemented goal oriented course curriculum. The unique features of the same include choice based credit system, market oriented skill enhancement courses, special coaching classes for UGC-NET, ICS and other competitive exams. The university adopted English medium for teaching and examination of the students. The University endeavors to enhance the communication skills of the students by making special efforts on improving the knowledge of English language.

The University has started with Undergraduate and Postgraduate Honours courses in basic sciences of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Psychology, Economics and Commerce, and English and Punjabi languages. The University also offer four year Integrated B.Sc.- B.Ed./B.A.- B.Ed. in Education and Ph.D programmes in Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Punjabi, English & Economics.

Fee Structure

  • Prospectus: ₹ 400/-
  • Admission Fee: ₹ 3000/- once a year
  • Security for UG and PG Courses is ₹ 2000/- and ₹ 3000/- respectively. Security is refundable on leaving the university and clearance of dues. Schedule Caste students eligible for scholarships have to pay Security.
  • Akal Alumni Association Membership Fee: ₹ 1,000/-
  • Examination Fee(₹ 3,400/- for Science subjects) ( ₹ 2,800/- for Non-Science subjects)

ADMISSION GUIDELINES

Submission of Complete Application Form

You will need :

  • Admission Form duly filled in and signed, along with the prescribed documents shall be considered as complete admission form.
  • Separate Form should be filled for each course.
  • The admission will be on the merit base.
  • Every candidate must indicate in his/ her Admission Form, the reservation category, if applicable, of the seat for which he/she has applied. A certificate as a proof of reserved category issued by competent authority must be attached with the admission form, on or before the last date of submission of admission form. No benefit of reservation will be given if reservation category is not mentioned in the admission form. The candidate will be considered for the general category seat in such cases.
  • Complete Admission Form is to be submitted before or by the due date or with late fee by the date mentioned, in person, or through registered post or speed post at the following address: Admission Cell Akal University, Talwandi Sabo-151302 (Punjab). The University shall not be responsible for any postal delay or loss in transit of the Admission Form/ documents.
  • Applications incomplete in any manner or without requisite documents or those received after due date shall not be entertained.

Documents to be Attached With Admission Form

  • Self-attested copy of Matriculation or equivalent examination certificate bearing testimony to date of birth.
  • Self-attested copy of Detailed Marks Card of the qualifying examination, or evidence of having appeared in the qualifying examination.
  • Character certificate issued by the Head Master/Principal of the school/college last attended.
  • Recent passport size self-attested three photographs. Photographs should be pasted with glue on the Form at specified places.
  • Self attested photocopy of Addhar Card.
  • Reserved category certificate, as per format given in the prospectus, wherever applicable.
  • Candidates with a gap of one or more year will have to submit an affidavit to the satisfaction of the Admission Committee that he/ she was not involved in any UMC or questionable activity during the gap period.
  • Persons with Disability must submit a certificate issued by the Chief Medical Officer of the concerned district, which should clearly indicate the extent of disability. Minimum 40% permanent disability is required, to be eligible for admission under this category.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria for admission to each course is as follows:

Under -graduate 60% in 10+2 or equivalent exam (55% in case of SC/ST and persons with disability category)
Post-graduate 60% in graduation or equivalent exam (55% in case of SC/ST and persons with disability category)

Candidates belonging to SC/ST and Persons with disability category (provided they produce a medical certificate of at least 40% physical disability) shall be allowed relaxation of 5% in the
aggregate percentage.

Change of Course

A student, who wishes to change the stream /specialization in the course or changes from one course to another, will have to apply to Admission Coordinator and has to deposit the requisite fee. However, such a change/ transfer will be permitted by the University subject to:

  • Availability of seat in the programme applied for change;
  • Fulfillment of eligibility criteria.
  • Receipt of application in this regard before commencement of the session along with the consent of parents/ guardians, in person, to the Coordinator of Admissions.
