The Gender Sensitization-cum-Anti Sexual Harassment Committee of Akal University, and the English Literary Society organized an Inter-Department Competition on the occasion of International Women’s Day Celebrations on March 8, 2019.“Balance for Better”was the main themeof the celebration.Students cutting across departments participated in Catch Line (Creative Slogan Writing, On the spot), Flash Fiction (Short Story Writing, On the spot), Paint-a-Poem (Poster Making, On the spot) and Poetry Recitation (Self-composed) competitions.A Special lecture on “Rights of Women Today” was delivered byDr. Sandeep Singh, HoD Punjabi Department. Prizes & certificates were given to the prize winners & participants. Dr Kuldip Kaur Johal, Dean Student Welfare(Women)& Dr. Kuljinder Kaur co-organisers of the event thanked the participants for making the event a success.
