Celebrations of 550th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji at Sultanpur Lodhi
Physics Association, Department of Physics, Akal University, Talwandi Sabo organized a one day trip to Sultanpur Lodhi, Punjab-India. Students visited a sacred Sikh pilgrimage site associated with the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak, who lived here for 14 years. At first, students visited Gurudwara Shri Bebe Nanki Ji, constructed in the 1970s, which honours the memory of Bebe Nanaki, elder sister of Guru Nanak. Then, they visited Gurudwara Shri Hatt Sahib where Guru Sahib used to work in Nawab Daulat Khaan’s provision store. Stones used by Guru Sahib as weights are still on display there. After that they visited Gurudwara Shri Ber Sahib which is situated on the bank of the rivulet Kali Bein. Guru Nanak performed his morning ablutions in Bein and then sat under a Ber (Zizyphus jujuba) tree to meditate.
