UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS TO MERITORIOUS STUDENTS 2022-23

To make education accessible to all strata of society, Kalgidhar Society awards scholarships to economically weaker and meritorious students in all the progammes as per following details:

UNDER GRADUATE COURSES

NOTE

Scholarship so awarded shall be adjusted in the Tuition Fee and other charges payable by the students.
Students have to maintain their academic achievements to avail their scholarships, during the subsequent years as well (awarded first year).
Student having reappear in any examination will not be eligible for any scholarship in subsequent semesters/ remaining duration of the course

MINORITY COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIPS

This is a centrally sponsored scheme to provide financial assistance to the poor and meritorious students longing to minority communities (Sikhs, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists,& Parsis). These scholarships are awarded through an agency designated by the State Government/Central Government for this purpose. The scholarships under the following schemes are available to the students belonging to minority communities.

POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR SCHEDULED CASTE STUDENTS

This is a centrally sponsored scheme. Under this scheme, Punjab Domicile students belonging to Scheduled Caste classes are given Scholarship by Punjab Government.

Conditions of Eligibility: The student must belong to the scheduled caste/scheduled tribe and the annual income of student's family must not exceed Rs. 2.5 Lac.
Fee: According to Government of India letter no. 11017/01/2008-SCD-V dated 29-04-2013, the SC/ST students whose parents/guardians have annual income not exceeding Rs. 2.5 Lac shall not be charged tuition fee and non-refundable compulsory fee (such as fee for admission, registration, tuition fee, sports, union, library, magazine, medical, examination and such fee as are compulsory charged by the University) at the time of admission.

POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR OTHER BACKWARD CLASS STUDENTS

This is a centrally sponsored scheme. Under this scheme, Punjab domicile students belonging to the
Backward classes are given scholarship by Punjab Govt. Conditions of Eligibility: The student must
belong to the other Backward Classes and the annual income of student’s family must not exceed Rs. 1
Lac (BPL).

How to apply

Application of scholarship
Self attested Affidavit regarding income to be submitted by student's father/ guardian, if employed in unorganized sector or salary certificate in case of government employees as proof of income.
Punjab Domicile certificate.
Caste Certificate issued by competent authority; ADC/ SDM/ EM/ Tehsildar
Photostat copies of Matric certificate and last examination passed
Photocopy of Adhaar Card number (UID) of candidate, Mother and Father / Guardian
Own bank account number of claimant, linked to Adhaar card and with IF SC code
One passport size photograph

Note:

Student shall be herself/ himself responsible for applying online for Minority, SC, and BC scholarship by the last date notified by the Government.
Students not applying for the scholarships well in time and as per requirement of the Government have to pay the tuition fee and all the other charges of the Akal University.
Conditions for above Govt. scholarships are amenable to changes by the competent authorities from time to time.
